We adopted Barney 6 years ago from our animal shelter. He was our first dog we ever had owned, neither of my parents had a dog growing up. We knew we wanted a lab, so my friend told me we should check out the animal shelter, so we did and found Barney a 9 month old lab that had been in a neglected home before. Despite his ordeal Barney was a great family dog and he LOVED kids. He meant the world to us. On May 17, 2005 It was Barney's time to go. He let us know he would be with us as long as he could he was a constant loving companion. We had to say goodbye that day, It was the hardest thing for us to do. We miss you very much Barney! And we love you:)

So sorry about your loss. I almost started crying reading his bio. It's so hard to lose a member of the family but I'm sure Barney left you many happy memories. Rest in peace sweet Barney.

That is such a shame that you lost Barney after only a year. Since he was only 9 months old when you adopted him, he must have been very ill. It's very hard to lose a beloved member of the family.

Oh Barney, you were such a handsome dog! I'm so sorry he had to go so young! I'm sure that was a hrd thing to do)': But, if he was in alot of pain, sometimes it was for the best. He looked like such a happy dog, and I love his eyes in this picture! You can even see them with this distance! R.I.P sweet Barney! Barney sure was a handsome man!!! I just lost my Black Lab, Putty to cancer in February & its been really hard!!! But I know that he'll be waiting for me at the gate along with my 77 other dogs who are up in heaven as well!!! Barney will forever wait, who knows he could be up there playing with my Putty!!
