Buster Brown

Boxer / Mixed

It's impossible to believe that TWO homes passed Buster up, much less abused this precious boy. His life since adoption and coming to his forever home with Bruiser and I, however, is a much happier subject! Buster has blossomed in every way imaginable. He's still gentle and quiet for the most part, but he gets a bouncy eagerness now that's contagious and guaranteed to get a smile out of anyone! He didn't know what doggie toys were at first, but now there's one (a blue rubber kitty) that's his favorite. He'll rarely play with another toy, but is always happy to try and get in on a game of tug between Bruiser and I or play keep away from Bruiser for a short while when outside. His intelligence and eagerness to please make him the perfect student - even I'm still surprised how quick my 'little' guy learns! The best part is how my 2 boys have helped each other - Bruiser's taught Buster how to do all the 'doggie' things that he never experienced (like tug), while Buster seems to have helped Bruiser calm down and even to listen better and be more obedient! They get along so well that I affectionately started referring to them as 'Pup 1' and 'Pup 2'.

How saddening, to think this lovely boy was so mistreated. He sounds like he's doing a lot better in his new forever home! Big hugs for sweet Buster Brown. :)Thanks for giving him a happy life.

Oh my goodness! How could some people abuse this baby?! So sad! I can tell now he is at peace-playing with other dogs, being a 'dog' and being taken care of. Reading his bio was heart breaking, but now I know he is in his forever home. And he is just CUTE! Check out my two Australian Shepherd Girls, Amber and Bella, and please comment on them. Thanks! :) ♥ ♥ :)

So glad you adopted this precious guy into your family! I hope over time he forgets his bad past. Some memories might linger but he now has someone who truly cares about him. I love people like you :-)

Buster so happy for you that you have playtime now with your brother, Bruiser. You had a rough start, but things are all good for you now. Great looking boy you are.

It's unthinkable isn't it, that someone would ever want to hurt a face that brings us such joy, and only asks the most simple of requests in return? They just love us, even when we're mad or depressed, and our every day problems are so trivial to them. Food and love, that's it. A belly rub and a bone. I'm so glad your home took him in, gave him the kisses he needed to show him the world has it's good side too. He seems happy and comfortable at your place, with a brother to keep him busy and show him the ropes on the dog world (and how to tug on those ropes too!) Appreciate him the way he deserves and you'll be rewarded every day in so many ways :)

Thank you for your comments, everyone. I smiled and even teared up a bit reading some of them! LadyMam - you are very right. Buster's excitement when I pick up their food bowls to get breakfast or dinner ready is unmatched. I've also never heard a happier groan than when he gets an ear rub while he's half asleep. :)

Buster what a sweet face. You remind us of our Zander, our son adopted him from a rescue center & he had been mistreated. I just can't imagine anyone being mean to such sweet babies. We love Zander & can't imagine our lives without him in it. Our son has Zander a little sister she was born July 19,2009. So we're planning a big birthday bash for her & Zander. Best of luck with your family. Love those boxers!
