Dakota is 8 yrs. old, a retired show dog (winner, too!), and is a wonderful pet. He learns quickly and loves to be loved on. He does,however, have that inbred Siberian Husky trait of loving to run. He'll drag the leash right out of your hands, if you're not paying attention, and take off to explore the neighborhood! I'm on a first-name basis with animal control. His luck ran out a couple of months ago, though, when he tried to run across the street and got hit by a car. Broke his left front leg in a couple of places, but handled it like a champ. Unfortunately, it didn't slow him down a bit! If anything, dragging that splint around on three legs for a month or so probably made him stronger and faster. I know he's itching for a run, so I keep an extra careful eye on him these days!
