All in the Family

Cocker Spaniel / Dachshund

Many years ago, a neighbor girl was trying to find homes for her dog's puppies. At eleven weeks old, Fluffy (alias Show Dog) looked just like a little black fluffy ball. We wouldn't have been able to find her eyes, if they weren't so shiny. So Fluffy was happily welcomed into a rather quiet (petless) home. Almost overnight our quietness was replaced with the party, staring the one and only dancing Show Dog! She was a hilarious comic, that knew she was funny. She flunked out of training school. Whenever she was exposed to other dogs, a sudden deafness appeared to come on by hearing a human voice. She did well on a leash, as long as you kept at her pace. Fluffy could never be taken off her leash, if there was the possibility of other dogs being in the same area. Her love them or hate them excitability, definitely embarrassed me more than a few times! Our little Show Dog, was always listening for the happy sound of (a vehicle) keys. She wanted to go everywhere that we went. She was often taken to a huge (people) park, where she would run as fast as she could, for as long as she wanted. She knew never to run out of sight, and she always came when called. When we would get within 4 or 5 miles of the park, she would hang her head out of the (half down) window, trembling and crying in excitement! Fluffy was quite the wiggle butt, rumba dancer. As long as someone was dancing, she would continue to swing that wiggle butt of hers, never wanting the music to end. She was a mixed breed that had incredible natural rhythm. Our party girl was so proud of herself, even beaming with pride on the rare occasions that she managed to steal a choice cut of meat (her timing was pure perfection) off the dinning room table, flying faster than a bullet( with her prize) into the backyard! I am sure if she was a friend or relatives pooch, and I witness such craziness,( maybe just before our dinner?) I would be a little appalled. As funny as it may sound, I do believe in dogs having a certain amount of discipline. But looking back, I don't think that I would change anything about Fluffy Girl! She was very happy, and I am sure the reason why she was so happy was because she could truly be the dog that she was meant to be! She was a protective and devoted family dog, that taught me patience and tolerance. The picture of Fluffy on the album cover, is a oil portrait (in her elder years) that my mother painted from her photo. Note: Fluffy's birth date is incorrect. I tried to edit correct date, but without success. During a extremely unusual busy time in my life, Fluffy seemed to be a little under the weather, and wanting my attention somewhat more. Little did I know ( until it was too late) that her kidneys were failing. It all happened way too quickly. After two hospital stays, almost back to back, I brought her home from her second visit, to be buried in her backyard. I had to make the decision to end it for her, because the odds weren't on her side. I told myself, absolutely never again. I definitely and firmly made up my mind - no more pets. Ever! Well..... fast forward to (another life) many years later. I never imagined that a animal could possibly figure out a way to adopt me! What the ?? To be continued....

Fluffy was sooooo sweet and I have tears in my eyes from reading her profile. She was sooo sweet and I'm soooo sorry for your loss! I love Fluffy's pictures - cocker spaniels and dachshunds are really cute and Fluffy was both of them! Double the cuteness! I can see that you love Fluffy very much and she will be in your heart forever, and I know that Fluffy loves you too. Thanks for the nice comments on my dogs - they really appreciate it! I was on the DP looking at a dog and you were one of the first to comment - thats how I discovered your profile. Unfortunately I was in a rush so didn't have time to comment on Fluffy so I sent you a friend request first :D Fluffy was a really sweet doggie and she'll be up in heaven now, waiting for you... RIP sweetheart xoxo
