Skeeter found for sale on the internet from a breeder who normally doesn't have Cavaliers. He was flown from Missouri to Florida, and did very well all by himself thanks to the airline, and carefully "packed" by the breeder, Olga. Skeeter was immediately taken under wing by our rescue dog who came to the family just 3 months before him, Miss Fancee. Fancee is a mix Pekngnese / Border Collie, she and skeeter are inseparable now, they play ...and they play hard running and jumping.. Skeeter loves to play with toys.. and when Fancee takes his chew stick or toy, Skeeter circles and lays down infront of her.. yipping. A loud yip yip yip, until I say.. FANCEEEEE give it to Skeeter! He knows that annoying yip gets my attention and he gets what he wants. Skeeter share's everything w/ Fancee.. at times they will go end to end w/ a chew both at the same time chewing away at their end. Skeet or Keeter, Keeter puppy is his "nik" name.. because our 2 yr old grandson Nikolai.. call's him Keeter. If Nik says.. Keeter down, Skeeter listens and stops and sits. Skeeter and Fancee are also joined by Tiki the grand dame of the furbabies.. our 13 yr old Longhaired Chihuahua. Even though Tiki tolerate's both Fancee and Skeeter.. they both know to leave little Tiki alone or face her rath! lol She growls like a German Shepard on the attack when they do things she doesn't like! lol Skeeter is a fast learner.. by the ripe age of 5 months he was sitting, coming, stay.. down.. and rolling over on command. Housed trained easily.. At dinner time, Skeeter took to the aroma's of our food and sat and begged, it must come naturally.. lol Now that he is 9 months old.. he has been taught to sit and wait quietly.. but ever now and then he will edge his way to me, put that cute long ear head on my knee.. then he will stretch his neck up and look on the table to see what is up there.. the other two sit behind him.. it's like.. OK Skeeter what do you see up there, tell us ? Skeeter is quiet the watch dog too.. doesn't matter who you are.. your going to get barked at by him and he starts the other two.. til you get in the house and we ok you ! He loves to sleep in my bed.. but is content to sit on the sofa or recliner w/ daddy.. when it is bed time he can often be found already in his doggy condo.. on the plush leopard bed fast asleep. It's hard being a puppy.. and we often find him quietly asleep...but he also is just so Dog Gone Cute and loving.. he fit right into our family! Our first Cavalier.. I know he won't be the last.. We love our 'Keeter pup! And look forward to finding a suitable Cavalier girlfriend for him soon!
