Breed: German Shepherd Dog
Cooper is a German Shepherd dog training for search and rescue. He was purchased in West Virginia from a woman who trained her own GSD to assist her special-needs child. Cooper is now 14 months old and recently earned his Canine Good Citizen tag! German Shepherds, with a little training, can be taught to grip onto certain toys and not let go - which made for fun dragging Cooper through the water at Leesylvania State Park in Northern Virginia.

I love this picture. Cooper looks like so many German Shepherds, intelligent, alert, and always ready to play. I think it's great that he's being trained as a search and rescue dog. I hope you have many happy times together.
I have seen these dogs in action! Amazing!! I don't think I would want to be on the wrong end of German Shepard like this that has been trained to be a a K9 dog with the police!! They know their job, for sure! Good luck with him, I am sure he will be a good search and rescue dog!
Cooper are you running for office? You'd certainly get my vote! Who wouldn't want such a handsome, intelligent guy running the show?

I think he would see to it that we all had an ample supply of biscuits and chew toys! But seriously, what an absolutely gorgeous GSD Cooper is! And how important these precious dogs are that frequently put their own safety on the line to help others, whether as police partners or rescue dogs or bomb and narcotics dogs. Guys like Cooper are MY personal heroes! Long life and happiness to you, Cooper and thank you for what you do for us lowly humans~
