Dog Breed: Mastiff

Montgomery, mostly called Monty, is a three-year-old Dogue de Bordeaux. He lives in Norway, where he was born in a litter of six puppies. Monty enjoys cheese, sleeping, snoring, taking (fairly short) walks, as well as begging for food by the dinner table. He's not fond of big black dogs, swimming, or having his filthy ears cleaned. As you can see, Monty is very photogenic. (Owner: Karl Erik Brøndbo)

We took the dogs to the dog park yesterday and I thought maybe there was an obedience class going on as everyone was gathered in the middle of the park. But everyone was gathered around a Mastiff! Such a novelty, no one had ever seen one in person before. My Barney blue eyes were popping out of his head as he cautiously moved in for a sniff. Then he seemed to realize this "horse" (I think he thought it was one) couldn't out run him so started to frolic around him. Very cool breed. Lots of drool, that's for sure!

What a cool dog. The photography is great. Our dog Lilly hates getting her ears cleaned too. If they would only realize we're taking care of them and not trying to torture them. I love the fireplace picture too :)

Oh, I completely agree!! Montgomery's photos made me want to go and rent "Turner and Hootch" again! Following the movie the first time, I researched the breed. I know they'd never work for me and my little housie, but I can dream, can't I?? Montgomery would own my heart and the photography of him is beyond fabulous!!
