Ross the Pembroke Corgi
Ross's dad says: Ross is our family’s herd dog. He is protective and fun but much prefers us all to be together. Whenever one of us is out of the house he becomes anxious until they return. Then it back to his playful, happy self. His favorite activity is to ride in the car anywhere -- more because he hates to be left at home more than anything else. He is a good companion and a joy to have around, even if he barks way too much at the ringing doorbell.
Here is my favorite thing about short-legged plump dogs: You can only tell if they are standing or sitting by viewing them carefully from the side or from the back. The visual difference is so slight that it sends me into paroxysms of laughter. A friend of my boyfriend's has a dachshund, and he was telling it to sit for a treat. He kept telling it to sit well after it was already sitting. I had to tell him when his dog was sitting because I had a back view. "Okay, he's sitting....no, wait, he just stood up.....ok....he's sitting again....give him the treat."
Corgis make my life better. They have junk in the trunk.
