Our family dog (who became mostly mine) was a cockapoo. She was like your Scrappy with young kids. Guess it was the Cocker in her.

Scrappy, your nose make my day. Good job!

I want to stroke Scrappy's silky ears. What a SWEETHEART! I am so glad that you got him as a semi-adult dog. So often older dogs get overlooked because people are looking for puppies, but I love dogs with a couple of years under their belts. Youthfulness is truly relative, because my adult dogs are just as playful as ever, but they certainly have more depth and personality than very young puppies.

I, of course, love all dogs, but Scrappy sounds like one of those select few that truly stand out by way of his shining personality. I completely understand the way you feel about him. It is fitting that such a beautiful dog has a personality to match.

years ago my sister and i rescued a cocker that looked a lot like scrappy. he was so small that we had to bottle feed for a few weeks. we were a foster family, and decided to let the children pick a name for him. the result: john jacob jingleheimer schmidt la la la la la la la. the dog was as unique as his name, and he never held it against them. he was a good friend to any child he met, and he knew what areas were off limits. when we saw him "escorting" one of the little ones, we knew that the child had wandered out of his comfort zone. he liked to keep them all in his line of vision. as they were all hyperactive, he got a lot of exercise.

Scrappy looks (and sounds) like a true gentleman. He is very cute and seems to have a wonder, sweet, loving nature.
