Add to FriendsThis is Maggie. She is the runt of a litter of 13 Australian Shepherds. The stud dog owner we took our female dog to, wanted to throw her & 3 other puppies into a bucket of water because they were white. My wife & I said "No". The stud owner did something that shouldn't have been done, & that is breed merle to merle (a gene that produces multicolors). White puppies have a very good chance of being/becoming blind &/or deaf. Through researching this, it has led me to become involved in rescue. I sometimes pull dogs from shelters, & do home visits to potential adopters. Often I do driving for legs that are coming through my area for transports that rescue dogs & get them to homes in other parts of the country where they will have a good life. Maggie is neither blind or deaf & is now 6 & 1/2 years old. She is my Love Puppy~~
View ProfileDestiny Stream came to us from a breeder in Indiana. The picture we found her with was of her and her sister. My wife was looking for just one pup. I couldn't see them separated. That moved us from three to five in our pack. Destiny is the smarter, more obedient of the two.

In Loving MemoryTaz came to me when he was about 6 weeks old. He was just starting to walk without falling. He is a great polite old boy. I never even heard him bark until he was 7 years old when our second dog had 13 puppies. At first he was reluctant to have anything to do with the pups. Then after they started carrying on, he found his voice. Quite funny.

In Loving MemoryMisty Beach came from a puppy mill to a petstore. This was before we knew hhe horrors of such a way to find a dog. She nearly died before we could get her to a vet. A few years down the way, we bred her and she had 13 puppies, with the average litter for Aussies being 5 to 8. At the end, she had Cushings disease, and severe respiratory problems. In her time she was definitely a real character. She is at the Rainbow Bridge.
