Add to FriendsAero von Amberg is our prince charming! He is a big boned, 5 year old coated German Shepherd. He is from an area famous for the quality of their dogs. We just want to warn you however, if you come meet Aero you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t stand a chance, he will work his charms on you. He will sit as close as he can to you, he will gaze up into your eyes, rub his big handsome body against you and finally will lay down for some tummy rubs. He is very easy going and even in the middle of chaos, he is calm and well behaved. He walks well on a leash, meets new dogs like a gentlemen! Please come and meet Aero and be charmed!
View ProfileLeo von Lowenthal is a handsome 12 month old black sable shepherd mixed with a slightly smaller breed. Leo is our first foster dog who lives on a boat! He has adjusted well to boat life according to his foster dad. During the day Leo goes to doggy daycare. His foster dad says, he âcontinues to love all dogs, big, small, and in betweenâ. You can see why Leo is very popular at doggy daycare. They are trying hard to network him to help find him a wonderful forever home too. Leoâs foster dad goes on to say, âHe does fine with cats, and we're working on just ignoring them as he would like to play chase with them. No aggression tho', all tail wags and bouncing. We have a wild mallard duck that has picked a really poor place to nest and we now walk right by that with little more than a glance. He's really sharpâ. Leo is gentle and very easy. He likes to follow his foster dad around and sleep by his feet. Leo is working on his training, he is housebroken or boat broken and knows his commands, sits, walks well, working on healing and stay, but is a quick leaner, Leo is still a little shy with new people, his foster dad tells Leo to âsay helloâ and then he knows it is okay! Leo loves other dogs; he would do well with a family with other dogs. Doggy daycare is important because he is in a boat but otherwise he would be fine home with some furry friends.
View ProfileHeidi von Hamburg is an elegant 14 month old German Shepherd. Heidi's bio is coming.
View ProfileNoelle von Pasadena is a beautiful 16 month old pure black Belgian Shepherd. (Long haired German Shepherds look very similar to Belgian Shepherds and sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.) Noelle was given up by her family because one of the kids developed allergies to her. They told the shelter she was great with kids, people and was a wonderful playful dog. She was a favorite at the shelter and we got the plea to help her. She looks well cared for, is housebroken and walks very well on leash. Noelle will bark at other dogs from a distance but once she's close to them she's all kisses and hellos. We think she would love a play buddy in her new home. She also seems comfortable in the crate and knows some of her commands. Noelle would be a great addition to a family with children and another dog. Not only is she lovely and full of kisses, but she is a gorgeous girl as well!
View ProfileZeke von Malibu is a large, handsome German Shepherd. His bio is coming
View ProfileWilma von Wiesbaden is the most delightful 11 month old Shepherd mix girl. Our volunteer was picking up some shepherds at the shelter when she saw Wilma. She just couldn't leave her behind - just look at the cute face. Wilma is a happy girl, and from what we've seen, she's highly intelligent. Wilma weighs around 50 pounds. On her way from the shelter she decided that being in the covered back of the truck was not where she wanted to be. She managed to open the sliding glass window on the back of the cab, climbed into the cab and made herself comfortable next to our volunteer on the seat. She likes other dogs and is just as smiley as she looks on her pictures. Per her foster mom: She gets along well with my 15lb malti poo and seems to not mind my 5 year old. She likes to chase my cats but doesnââ¬â¢t seem to want to do them any harm. They are not interested in playing with her! She walks well on the leash and has impeccable house manners. She does like to see what you have on the kitchen counters. A gentle ââ¬Ådownââ¬Â is all it takes to correct her. She sleeps in her crate all night but likes to be in my room with me. When meeting someone new she is not obtrusive at all. She has one little sniff and thatââ¬â¢s it. She does have hesitation when it comes to men and likes to bark at them. Overall Wilma (Janga) is a GREAT dog and would be a great addition to any family.
View ProfileRichie von Gardiner is a handsome 3 year old German Shepherd with a pinch of another breed. He is a strong, active dog weighing in around 75 pounds, and he loves daily walks and bike rides as well as playing fetch. Richie is smart and has learned many tricks which he'll gladly do in exchange for treats. He knows "sit", "down", "shake" and "roll over" and you can put treats on his paw and he won't touch them until you tell him to. Although he loves tummy rubs, he can be picky about being disturbed when he's sleeping (but who isn't?) He does have a high prey drive and needs a home without small animals. Richie gets very protective of his home and surroundings so we feel he would do best in a home without children and a lot of commotion. He loves looking out the window of his home and guarding his family. ~ Richie von Gardiner is a charming 3 year old old German Shepherd with a touch of Lab. Richie has some training and is housebroken. We like to refer to him as the 'LOVE MUFFIN'. He loves people and loves giving you his paw which usually turns into Richie sitting in your lap. He's good with other dogs but is a more alpha personality so if he goes to a home with other dogs they need to be more submissive. Unfortunately Richie considers cats as squeaky toys so a cat free home is a must for this boy. He is all charm but at the same time he has a strong personality and an experienced owner is a must for him - someone who will let Richie know his place in the pack. Meeting him is falling in love with him, he's a definite charmer!
View ProfileLiesel von Lowenstein is a striking 14 month old black and red German Shepherd. Liesel has that happy, spunky temperament red-heads are known for. She's up for anything you have in mind and loves to have something to do. She certainly didn't want to stand or sit still for her pictures so they really don't do her justice. She's good with other dogs and humans. She's very alert and bonds quickly to her person. She kept looking for the volunteer who walked her before we took her pictures. She should be around 70 pounds at her ideal weight. SHE'S A LOOKER!
View ProfileTitan von Templin is a stunning 2 ½ year old classic looking German Shepherd. Titan is large and well muscled; he looks like he came out of a book on the German Shepherd breed standard. Titan has obedience training and knows his commands. He walks well on the leash, but does alert to other dogs on a leash. He needs an experienced German Shepherd person who has dealt with a stronger personality. He is good with large dogs he knows, but he isnât a dog park dog, he doesnât like all dogs. He is great with the volunteers and staff at the kennel; he needs someone who will establish a relationship with him before trying to boss him around. He is too much for small children. Titan is housebroken and loves to go for rides in your van or car. He would be the best companion for the right person.
View ProfileTara von Teitelbaum is a gorgeous 16 month old plush coated German Shepherd. Tara is a lovely girl with pretty eyes and beautiful coat. She is ok with other dogs in a group but can be a little 'froggy' on leash with other dogs close by. She is however a lover of people and once she gets to know you she will give you little kisses. She will be happy as an only dog in a home where someone is home a lot or in a home with a submissive male canine friend. She weighs about 60-65 pounds so is medium in size. Looking for a new buddy to keep you company? Look no further, Tara is your girl!
View ProfileGraf von Geneva is a stunning 3 year old black and red German Shepherd. We are promised his AKC papers but havenââ¬â¢t seen them yet. Graf looks like he is from import show lines. He was purchased for $2,000 and then had Schutzhund training for a year. Then he ended up guarding a warehouse at night. That is how Graf spent his life for two years. He learned he could easily intimidate people and that they were afraid of him and he learned he could only depend on himself. A compassionate employee slowly befriended him and began building his trust in humankind again. This being said, Graf is an extraordinary dog. He is Shepherd through and through and you must earn his love and trust and devotion by proving yourself consistent, assertive and patient. Once you have his heart; it is yours forever. This dog will do anything for you. He has amazing ball drive and loves playing tug of war. He heels nicely, sits on command and is housetrained. He also shared his home with a talkative parrot, three other dogs, a cat and snakes. Graf is non confrontational with other animals and would probably do best in a home where the other dog isn't bossy or assertive. He is living with a K-9 officer now. Graf will only be placed with someone who has had experience with protective dogs and who will continue to work with him. Graf needs a one owner home, someone who understands that he will protect them.
View ProfileGorgeous Roo, our 14 month old shepherd mix girl came to us pregnant and had a record number of puppies! 14 adorable pups, 2 boys and 12 girls. We're not sure who daddy was (as usual - there are many 'traveling males' in that area) but the pups seem to have maybe Boxer in them. Whatever they might be, they are delightful, and if they have Roo's sweet personality, you can be sure you will have the most loving, wonderful dog if you adopt one of these munchkins! Our guess is they will be medium sized, maybe 50-60 pounds once fully grown. (again, that's an estimate) The puppies will be ready to go home at the end of February. The adoption fee for each pup is $350, which includes spay/neuter, microchip and first set of shots.
View ProfileHannah von Himmelbach is a stunning 11 month old coated German Shepherd. She has a very easy going temperament and is happy to be in your company. She walked calmly through noisy streets unaffected by the commotion going on around her but she needed some reminders about which side of the human to walk on. She learned very quickly to sit when asked and responded to praise for a job well done by giving kisses! Hannah is such a sweet dog and sheâll make a very loving addition to some lucky family. No small dogs.
View ProfileEmerson von Murray is a beautiful 4 month old coated German Shepherd (mix?) puppy. We can't quite tell yet if he's a pure shepherd or if he's mixed with another breed. What we know is that he's just picture perfect and as sweet as they come. He came to us with a leg fracture that he had surgery for and is now recovering in his foster home. (pictures were taken before surgery) Read what his foster mom has to say about him.: Whoever owned Emerson previously spent the time to completely housebreak him. He also sits and stays on command, as well as sits without being told, when he comes up to you. He offers his paw when asked to shake. He chews only on his toys. He seems quite mature for a puppy. He is very well centered and confident, and has that sense of "presence" so typical of shepherds. He's an amazing and easy puppy and anyone adopting him will be a lucky human!
View ProfilePuppies, daily puppy is on their way!!! Morgan von Lindstrom's puppies are gorgeous 8 week old youngsters. Although we don't know who daddy was, the pups sure look like dad was a Lab, Retriever or Newfie. (or combination of) The puppies are very large, the biggest one, Bear is already 21 pounds at age 8.5 weeks and the smallest is a female weighing in at 16 pounds. These babies are absolutely stunning, they have been well socialized with people and wonderfully cared for by their foster family. They will make amazing family dogs so you better hurry, these munchkins won't last long! The adoption fee for each puppy is $450. They are spayed/neutered, have been microchipped and had their first set of shots.
View ProfileAvatar von Anaheim is a lovely 9 month old German Shepherd. Avatar has the personality of a typical big puppy. She's happy, outgoing, friendly and full of energy. She so much wants to be with her person, and loves to have another dog around, especially one like Tucker. She gave him lots of kisses when they were walked together. Although she's a wonderful girl, she still has that puppy mouthiness, so no little kids for her for now. She's eager to please and will thrive with someone who will do some training with her - after all, a shepherd's mind is a terrible thing to waste. Come meet this charming girl and let her give you the paw and kisses!
View ProfileSimone von Simmons is the most stunning little 10 week old Husky puppy. Her family asked us to find her a new home; unfortunately they were not prepared for all the work involved with raising a puppy. Simone is a huge hit at the vet's office and everyone just loves her. She's just the typical puppy, sweet as pie, curious and cute cute cute. Please be sure you're ready to devote the time to make sure Simone has the training, attention and guidance all pups need. You couldn't find a more beautiful girl! Her adoption fee is $500 to help her shepherd friends with their medical bills.
View ProfileLilly von Perkins is a pretty 12 month old Shepherd with a pinch of something else mixed in for good measure. She is in a foster home with 3 other shepherds (male and female), a small dog and a horse. She has a sweet personality and gets along with anything and anyone. Everyone who meets her comments on what a lovely dog she is. She can snuggle up with you on the couch or lay next to you in the grass while you barbeque, but she can also be exuberant and feel like running with joy. Lilly is good on a leash and will even walk right alongside you. She is completely potty trained and is great at letting you know when she needs to go outside. The loving home who adopts Lilly will receive a sweet, energetic bundle of joy in return.
