Daisy Mae

The way we got Daisy Mae,was from an ad in the News Paper, to adopt a puppy from the local shelter, she was advertised as a 4 month old medium sized Terrier/poodle mix. This was in the early part of July 07; we adopted Daisy on what was to be her last day at the shelter, where we were told she had been a street pickup. When we took her to vet the next day after we got her, we were told that Daisy was not 4 months old, but more like 2 months old from the looks of all the baby teeth, she had a month full. Daisy is now a bit taller than but not as heavy as our Golden Retriever Tigger. He is our Old man who so graciously puts up with all of Daisys energy. He is much happyer now that she is turning into somewhat of a couch potato. Daisy is a loving, sweet girl who still thinks she can fit into your lap, like a puppy, we can not seem to convince her otherwise. She loves to lie around in the sun; her favorite position is upside down. Of course that is when she is not chaseing down a squirrle, rabbit or what every catches her eye in the yard, and boy can she run, she is some kind of fast. What our girl has is two speeds, ninty to nothing or full stop couch potato, but we love her....

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Today November 21, 2008 at 10:34 Tigger said GoodBye to us. He has gone on as many say over the Rainbow. Already my heart hurts with his being gone but he was ready to go, I will so miss him. I love you old man, Run and have fun and know you are loved always... Tigger is a true Older Gentleman; he is around 13 years old as best as we can tell. He joined our family all on his own; in 1999. My Bandit who was a Boston terrier of 15 years had just passed away, the day before Tigger showed up in the yard. He is a Golden Retriever, at the time he was not to healthy. I have never been one to let anything or anyone go hungry, so I feed him, ran an ad in the local paper, made flyer and put him on the radio, as a lost dog. No one ever answered, after month or so the boys started letting him inside and he was gaining weight, but had a bad cough. My Daughter was 18 months old at the time, when one day I heard Tigger let out a loud yelp. I found Tigger with my daughter, she had found, then clipped a heavy barrette to his ear, which she had actually closed and snapped it. She was making him pretty, I told her that it was a No No; Tigger was pretty just as he was. As I removed the barrette and cleaned his ear, thank goodness it did not damage his ear to bad. I looked at him, and thought if he could set there, his head and jaws where the same level as my babys head, he let her hurt him, but he did nothing to her, he did not bite her he just yelped. Well, needless to said, Tigger had a new home from that day on. It was not easy, he had severe Heart worms, a heart murmur, our Vet estimated his age at around 4. It took two rounds of the heart worm treatment to get him clear, he still coughs sometimes but that is just our Tigger. He got his name because as bad, unhealthy, as he was he bounced every where when he was younger. Loves to chase and eat, yes eat Tennis balls. In Tigger opinion is that socks make the best chew toys for tough a war. Now in his senior years, he would prefer a nap, some treats and lots of love.
