Profile: "What we have in common with dogs is surely more important than what we don't." I have a soft spot in my heart for boxers, but I truly love dogs in general. I love making new friends with fellow dog lovers (and, of course, their pups!), so feel free to message me or comment :)

Bruiser

Bruiser

Bruiser's been with me since he was 2 months old and brings sunshine to my life daily, even on the grayest of days. I've never known a dog that's so in-tune with his surroundings. When I finally lay down on a bad day, he can't seem to crawl onto my chest fast enough and proceed to give me kisses as fast as his doggie tongue will let him. He'll lick my face until I start laughing, at which point he seems satisfied and trots off to bring me a toy. Bruiser is even the reason that Buster's ARVC was caught. I took Bruiser to the ER after noticing something was off, and sure enough, his heart was beating wrong. The cardiologist diagnosed a disruption in electrical signals (no apparent cause) that just sometimes happens. 5 days later, Buster was hospitalized with severe arrhythmias and near heart failure (which I wouldn't have noticed had I not just dealt with Bruiser's heart problem) and diagnosed with ARVC (boxer cardiomyopathy). Our regular vet and the cardiologist both agreed afterward that Bruiser most likely was experiencing sympathy pains for his brother. Beyond being the best therapist a girl can have, Bruiser is just happy living his doggie life - playing with toys, running in the yard with Buster, and snuggling up close with Buster and I when the day starts winding down.

Buster Brown

Buster Brown

It's impossible to believe that TWO homes passed Buster up, much less abused this precious boy. His life since adoption and coming to his forever home with Bruiser and I, however, is a much happier subject! Buster has blossomed in every way imaginable. He's still gentle and quiet for the most part, but he gets a bouncy eagerness now that's contagious and guaranteed to get a smile out of anyone! He didn't know what doggie toys were at first, but now there's one (a blue rubber kitty) that's his favorite. He'll rarely play with another toy, but is always happy to try and get in on a game of tug between Bruiser and I or play keep away from Bruiser for a short while when outside. His intelligence and eagerness to please make him the perfect student - even I'm still surprised how quick my 'little' guy learns! The best part is how my 2 boys have helped each other - Bruiser's taught Buster how to do all the 'doggie' things that he never experienced (like tug), while Buster seems to have helped Bruiser calm down and even to listen better and be more obedient! They get along so well that I affectionately started referring to them as 'Pup 1' and 'Pup 2'.
