Puppy: Chowder

Profile: We arranged with what we thought was a reputable breeder to pick Chowder up as a gift for our 16 year old son. When we got there we discovered that the "kennel" was actually a puppy mill. Although we know you're not supposed to buy puppies from those people we couldn't leave Chowder there, so we bought him and then called the authorities. He bayed in such a heartbreaking way on the ride home, but once here with us he adapted nicely. He was undernourished and hadn't had any of his shots, but now he is happy, healthy, and he doesn't doubt for a moment who the baby of the family is. We love him very much.

Coyote's Puppy

I'm a 13" Beagle born on the fourth of July, 2007. I am a real handful for my family but I'm so cute they can't stay exasperated with me for more than a few minutes. My best friend is Travis, who is a super fat cat that weighs about the same as I do. I love to play with Travis even when he's sleepy, which is almost all the time! There are lots of dogs in my neighborhood and for the most part I have them fooled into believing I'm a pretty tough cookie and own the block. There is another Beagle in my neighborhood named Bella and she keeps escaping her family. She runs them ragged all over the neighborhood and it drives me crazy when I hear everyone yelling "Bella! Come back!" I bay at every window in the house until she's caught. That Bella is full of trouble, but I think she's kind of cute too. Don't tell her I said that. I especially like little kids. They think I look like Underdog and they all want to cuddle me. I am way cuter than Underdog, but I'll take the cuddles any way I can get them. I've come a long way from my humble beginnings. I am one of the luckiest dogs in the world because I started my life in a nasty puppy mill. My human parents obviously didn't know that until they showed up to get me, but I'm really glad they didn't turn around and leave without me when they found out. Instead they paid the lady so they could bring me home and then called animal control to rescue the rest of my friends. My human mom says she just couldn't turn and walk out of there without me and that makes me so happy. I wasn't very healthy when they got me so they took a lot of time to nurse me back into perfect health. Now I feel great and I'm always so happy that I can't even sit still (unless it's nap time of course)!
