Sophie was adopted from an event held by a local rescue group. Seven weeks old at the time, she was the last puppy there when I arrived. No one wanted her because she'd picked up kennel cough at the animal shelter (not a no-kill one) she'd been pulled from. I picked her up, she nuzzled into my shoulder runny nose and all, and the rest is history. She is now 3 years old, totally healthy and absolutely beautiful! She's a mixed breed, but we thought she was so smart and pretty we wanted to find out what might be in her--none of our guesses proved correct. DNA says English Coonhound and Lab. She's quite feathered around and on her tail and legs--where'd that come from? Just the best dog ever!
