Puppy: Bailey Blue
Profile: Lifelong dog lover... in particular, in love with the bully breeds. Bailey Blue is our third dog. Our last dog was a gorgeous pit bull who was a very important and beloved part of our family for 16 years. He crossed the rainbow bridge in 2008 and took a big piece of my heart with him. Now, in retirement, my husband and I wanted to add another fur baby to our family - after all, what could be a better use of our time. My strong preference was to adopt a rescued pit bull. However, we live in an "active adult" community and, sadly, people's perceptions can lead to a lot of misunderstandings. We determined that it was safer for our pooch and for us to adopt another breed. Hence, our little Bailey Blue. Who knows what she is... her momma definitely looked a lot like a Border Terrier... short, wiring coat all over. However, Bailey Blue is more fuzzy than wiry. We won't know for sure unless we do a DNA test, but her sire may have been a German Shepherd Dog. None of that really matters because she's freakin' adorable and so smart. In addition, there's the bonus that she does not shed!

Meet Bailey Blue! Recently adopted from a great rescue, BARC, in Redlands, CA. Rescue workers pulled Bailey, her mama, and sibbies from a bad situation where they were kept outside in the desert in 100+ heat with no water. They all spent several weeks at the rescue. Bailey is now the toast of the neighborhood! We both recently retired and most of our neighbors are retired, as well. This means that Bailey gets all the attention any lucky little girl could want. Neighbors make great aunties and uncles! In spite of the rocky start in life, Bailey is a super-chill little girl and she learns quickly! Her favorite "toy" happens to be ice cubes... She pounces on them like a kitten on a mouse toy. We wish we had realized that she would find them so entertaining because it would have saved us a small fortune on puppy toys! It's going to be a good life!View Profile
