Puppy: No Puppies
Profile: I adopted Tasha, a German Shepherd Lab Mix (I have always wanted this mixed breed). I found her on www.petfinder.org She had been in a high kill shelter in California. She brought no history with her. She was scheduled to be euthanized. In the shelter, Tasha had 11 puppies 2 days before she was rescued. She was rescued by Can-Do.org ( She was so sick she could not nurse her puppies. On the trip the wonderful volunteers (God bless them) bottle-fed her pups. When she came off of the van, she and her puppies were rushed to the ER; the vet said he did not think she would make it. Sadly, all but 2 of her puppies died of distemper. She was in a couple of foster homes since June 2008. I went to www.petfinder.com to find photos of German Shepherd/Labrador mixes to use as a screensaver. I saw her profile and knew "you may not be looking for a dog right now, but THIS is your dog." I met her with her foster mom a few days later. I asked LOTS of questions (never having had so much as a goldfish before)! I took several days to think about it and then I adopted her. I still can't believe she is mine. She apparently was abused, sick and emotionally hurt and I am so glad that I can give her a permanent home and all the love she deserves. Tasch is like my shadow, she follows me everywhere. If I am reading whilst lying on the floor, she snuggles right next to me, places her paw around my waist , her head at my side and snores. She is so patient and loves to be affectionate. I love her more and more each day; sometimes I feel my heart is going to burst, I love her so much. Taschi is the best dog and I would not change a thing about her.
