Hi! My name is Toby! I was rescued from the OC Animal Shelter last August. From the moment I saw my mom and sister I was Pawestruck! They picked me out from all the other dogs in the pound and brought me home. I was in there for a long time and was so happy to be going home to a loving family. I get to go to the beach everyday with my mom - I love it! And, over the summer my sister comes home from college so I get to hang out with her and snuggle with her all day. She gives me SOOO many kisses! No one knows what I am - the pound told me I'm a rat terrier - but lots of people think I'm part Jack Russell or chihuahua. Who knows - all I know is I love my mom and sister!

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

We adopted our first dog at the shelter in April of 1996 when I was in the second grade. When we asked about him they said he had been picked up as a stray and his name was Freeway, a 3 year old terrier mix. His owner had called and said that he'd pick him up, but 6 weeks later still hadn't claimed him. We took him home Easter weekend and he adapted right away to life with my mom and I. He was very well behaved except for the few times he ate chocolate and for his intense hatred of mail carriers. He sucked Nestle's Crunch bars right through the wrappers the first Halloween we had him. He would bring out a piece of mine or my mom's clothing to keep in his bed every day while we were gone. He never chewed them, just wanted to keep us close while we were away. He wouldn't eat until we came home for the first year or so, either. He had a penchant for running away - he'd take off and explore the neighborhood and got to know a lot of the neighbors that way - they'd bring him back, his head hanging low, Freeway knowing he'd done something wrong. He was most "famous" for being able to sneeze on command and entertained everyone he met with that trick. He would "fake" a sneeze if he wasn't in the mood, but would always deliver a real one if we persisted. He was like a little old man his last few years - he would bark at my mom to scold her if she stayed out late after work. His hearing and eyesight grew weak, but he still got so excited when the leash came out for his twice daily walks. He bounded down the beach or the sidewalk right up to his very last walk. He was a great dog and lived a great life at the beach until he died peacefully the last week of July of 2008 at age 15. He was a big part of our family and we miss him every day.

Hi! My name is Bella and I'm currently at Lido Vet in Newport Beach, CA. I stay at the vets office in the adoption center but I was found by "Pup Squad Rescue," an organization that saves animals from high kill shelters. I'm about 5 or 6 years old and I do have a cataract in one eye but that doesn't stop me!!! I'm just as fast and as friendly as any other doggie! I LOVE people and I do like other dogs but I really don't like when they get close to my toys or treats so I growl. I am a total lap dog and would love attention from someone who will love me forever. PS: I'm a chihuahua and I'm pretty so my name is Bella! FOR MORE INFORMATION
