Haley Moose

Haley Moose

Haley's first nickname was Dumpster Dog. She and her siblings were found in a cardboard box in a dumpster at a gas station in mid December. Being a rescued puppy, she's shown her gratitude by being the most awesome dog I've ever had the privilege of knowing. Haley can sit, shake, down, speak and sing and she's orb-obsessed. She earned her second nickname, Moose, by being our largest dog when she first joined us. We had cocker spaniels when we got Haley, so Moose seemed applicable. 8 years later, she's no longer the biggest, but she'll always be Moose.

Eeyore

Eeyore

Eeyore is a giant sweetie. Eeyore's owner couldn't keep him anymore as she was moving to an apartment and asked us to take him in. He was a year old at the time and the fit was perfect. He's a gentle soul, and would love to be a lap dog if it weren't for his 80ish pounds. He'll stretch out on my bed with his head on my pillow. With his paws on my shoulders he stands about 5'8". While Eeyore loves to romp and play, his absolute favorite thing in life is to have his ears scratched. He will melt onto your lap, the floor, whatever, if you rub his ears.

Zoey

Zoey

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

Zoey was a spunky little Manchester Terrier. She was another "rescue" dog, taken in from a rescue organization. I swear she is part rubber band though. She could stand still and spring vertically about 5 and a half feet - repeatedly! She was extremely quick and agile. In a household of bigger dogs, she held her own. She was faster than all my dogs and could jump them and run under them (except for under our Cocker, Justice). She cuddled to sleep at night with our daughter who is 5. Zoey was an awesome pet. We miss her greatly.

Zipper

Zipper

Zipper is a toy Manchester Terrier. Her full name currently is Zipper Thunderpaws Tiny-Terrorist Cannon-Mouth Owens. I'm sure her name will continue to grow. She's a fiesty little girl who is totally unaware of the fact that her sibling dogs (2 golden retreivers, and Australian shepherd mix and a cocker spaniel) outweigh her in some cases, ten-fold. She refuses to be left alone, making her displeasure known to anyone within say 15 miles. She loves to snuggle, go for car rides, romp in the back yard and bury herself under the bed covers. Zipper fell in love with a space heater this winter. She may think it's a God of sorts.

Justice

Justice

Justice (Lee's Lady Justice) also knowns as Bean, is the matriarch of our family. She's 13 years old and still very active. She loves to rip the stuffing out of any toy and to "kill" the squeaker. She is also a fan of tennis balls. Justice loves the water, except if it has rained and the grass is wet. Then she acts like she'll die if her feet get wet. She has a neat quirk... when she barks it's as though the expulsion of air from her mouth pushes her backwards. If she barks a lot, she can back herself into a wall! Justice is a big snooze head too. Her favorite spot being the back of the couch.

Scooby Doo

Scooby Doo

Scooby is a rescue dog. She was initially intended to be our daughter's dog but it way to exuberant at this time. She's was guessed to be an Australian shepherd mix when we got her, but after watching the Westminster I think she is more like the Shiba Inu. Scooby yodles and is very affectionate. She and Eeyore are best buddies. Scooby is just learning to sit, shake, down, etc. as she approaches her 2nd birthday. I can envision her being a very well behaved and calm dog within a year.

Rusty

Rusty

Rusty, fondly known as 360, Rusty-Roo and Rustoleum, is a spaniel/setter mix our vet rescued from traffic on Hwy 360. No tags, collar, microchip or response to signs posted, our vet called us to see if Rusty could join the herd. Rusty is a sweetheart. While he is still in the chew anything phase, he is super affectionate and has these soulful looks when you scold him that make you scoop him up and kiss him instead. He's fit in well with his doggy siblings. This spring we will do leash training and replace the patio furniture he's eaten. Life is always better with another dog, I say.
