Profile: My husband, Indy (short for the Latvian name "Indulis"), and I, have two Golden Retriever/ Alaskan Malamute sisters from the same litter. They're named Stormy (who has brown eyes) and Timber (has blue eyes). The dogs' momma was purebred Golden Retriever. Pappa was purebred Alaskan Malamute. The humans who owned Momma and Poppa dog were each breeders, breeding their selected breed. The humans lived next door to each other. Nine absolutely beautiful puppies were the result of Momma dog being let outside without human escort in error - oops! Six of the puppies arrived at Denver Dumb Friends League - our local incredible animal shelter - at age 6 weeks. Stormy and Timber among them. At eight weeks, Stormy appeared on a local news broadcast as their "pet of the week" - ha! "The girls" are beautiful, terrific and very polite dogs! We also have one purebred Alaskan Malamute male named Thunder. He's eighteen months old and a gentle giant. He adores his sisters, especially Stormy. We also have several cats! I've had dogs and cats all my life. Indy's had cats but had never lived with a dog until my previous dog, Panda, and I moved in when Indy and I got married. He loves dogs and cats - we both love all animals. Shelters break our hearts. Please, people! Spay and neuter your pets!!
