I have had my labrador Hunter for 3 years now. He never stops amazing me how smart he is. I have taught Hunter over 40 tricks and hand signals without using a professional trainer. I have to say he is a very obidient dog. He learned his first trick "sit" at 6 weeks old, he got it at the first try. I awarded him with a treat and he was hooked. He even recognizes each idividual toy he has such as "squeeky" "ducky" "ball" "football" "rope" "fuzzy" "frisbee" and "ghost." I have taught him these idividual tricks over a lengthly period of time it has taken me 3 years but I'm almost there lol. Hunter was actually supposed to be a Search and Rescue Dog but we never got him trained. I have also taught him how to find his toys using mayonaise or katsup rub it on the toy to get the scent. Put in on the floor and take it to say the cabinet or the closet. Then I let him smell a bit of the toy and tell him to "find it" or to "search" he will then look everywhere for the toy where I guide him. He then will sit when he gets the scent. I'm very pleased to have taught him this. Since it is fairly hard to teach a dog to find something if you don't have alot of time.

In Loving MemoryIn Loving Memory

I had Cinnamon since I was 5 years old, I'm 15 now she is the best dog I have ever owned. Cinnamon has been with me for 10 years. It's never a dull moment with her. She loves to howl and look at you with those big ol' brown boxer eyes. Nomatter what I'm doing she always makes sure that she is right there with me. We're always together, wether it's playing with her in the backyard, teaching her tricks or taking her for walks she always had to bring out her true boxer background, jumping. She is the highest jumper I have ever seen. She had caught a couple low flying birds in her day because of those springs in her legs. She doesn't jump anymore because of her athritis but I know she wants to she gets so excited. But she definatly knows her limits what she can and can't do.

After many months of asking to get another dog my mom finally caved and said it would be okay if I was to get a puppy. My Boxer Cinnamon that I had for almost eleven years passed away in March. Hunter my lab was heart broken, Mostly because he seen her when she did pass(thats when I found her in my dads room) He whined, tried to "wake" her up nudging her and even touching her back with his paw. He still misses her, I have all of Cinnamon's things in my room, Her collars, pictures, statues and things I made of her when I was younger. I always catch Hunter sniffing her collars, He whines right afterwards because he knows she's gone. Yesterday I found an ad on Craigslist about some purebred Labrador puppies. I just had to have my mom call, They were not only purebred, But were yellow and both parents were on site. My mom called about the puppies when I was sitting axiously by the phone. The woman told my mom on the phone that she had one puppy available, I got so excited. She said they were purebred, I went and asked my mom if we could go and get her, She said okay =DD It took us a half an hour to drive all the way out there from where we live, But it was worth it. I went up to the door and was greeted by the mother dog and her owners. They seem like they were very nice people. We also seen the puppies sister which was a very pretty chocolate color. Afterwards we took her home, she was so good in the car, I tried to decide on a name. Then I seen an ad on a billboard when we were on the freeway, Part of the ad said Jessie, Then it was decided, her name would be Jessie. She is a gorgeous Yellow with some bolo markings, It is a fault in the AKC but you know what? I could care less, It really isn't noticeable anyways. Nomatter what color she is I would love her just the same =D The introduction with Hunter was something else, harder then I had expected. Hunter isn't naturally agressive/dominent but he was right in her face, He was drooling all over her, She looked like she just took a bath. I did some corrections when I was introducing them, When he gave her "the look" I did the dog whisperer touch on Hunter, and when she gave him "the look" I did the same thing back to her, She learned that it is not okay to bite out of fear/agression with me, Hunter or anybody else. But she sure knows her limits with him, Since Hunter is toy/food agressive (he doesn't bite but he will just growl, after awhile he will give up and start whining) but when she went to try to take the toy he was chewing on he gave her a warning growl and she quickly backed away. They are wonderful together now, They just love to play with eachother. I posted a link to a video, also a couple pictures of her Hunter and Jessie playing Jessie speaks on command
