Puppy Breed: Pomeranian

Boomer's mom says: Boomer is a VERY smart and friendly dog. He loves to fetch and knows all of his million toys by name. He loves to lie upside down in people's arms and have his tummy rubbed like a baby. He sneezes when he wants something. He smiles and makes everyone who sees him smile.

I love poms! Yesterday I just got a new puppy, who doesnt even have a name. She is a bernese mountain dog, and as soon as I get a name for her, I'm going to put her on this site. I rated Booms with an outstading 11 biscuits, and I hope more people do the same, and raise her score!

Boomer is certainly special! I had a Pom for 18 years and she had so many adorable traits to love. She had a very long life and lived well (we saw to that!). Cutest thing she did was to take one piece of food from her bowl, carry it into the den and with a head toss throw it across the room. Then she would "kill" it after a ritual of stalking it, growling at it from behind the couch and finally leaping on it for the death blow before eating it with a flourish! Too cute!!

I can't honestly say I find it cute, however I am sure the poodle is just as excellent a companion and beloved by its family as any other dog. That said, I wonder is it really in the best interest of the animals to have this site set up as a "beauty contest", where the less beautiful dogs get penalized with fewer biscuits? My family likes this site because everybody gets to see new, cute puppies every day. But now I am worried that kids (not to mention adults) are being conditioned bye the format to devalue less 'cute' animals - in the long run, this kind of thinking could make it harder for those to get adopted (or worse). Perhaps the site managers could give some thought to an alternate system, one which doesn't devalue some dogs against others. Thinking about it, although 11 biscuits are possible, it seems mean to give any innocent, lovable pup less than an 8 or 9 (which might account for all the high ratings - we're all animal lovers who come here!)

Boomer is so cute. I had a pom that looked just like him. His name was Chico. He also sneezed and did a little bull type kick with his back legs when he was excited or wanted something. He passed away last May. I miss him lots!!

Boomer is a little cutie, I have two little poms, Sadie Lea and Zoie, we rescued Sadie whe she ws only 5 weeks old, her owner at the time wasn't a good parent and she suffered. Since, she has growned into a very swet little girl and she is very much a daddy;s girl, Zoie came to us after Sadies sister died, Sadie was very sad and missed her very much, Zoie is only 5 months old and keeps her very busy now. I don't know what I would do with out these little balls of fur running around the house. Poms are a very smart little pup, they choose who their mommys and daddys are, we really don't get to choose them, they are so darn independant and so loving. Boomer looks to be the samd, give him lots of love because he will do the same in return.
