Cha Cha's birth mom says: Our family got Cleo two years ago. We had always wanted an Irish Jack Russell and we were thrilled to find a breeder locally. Irish Jack Russells have shorter legs and a much milder temperament than the classic "American" Parson Russell terrier. We wanted to breed Cleo just once, and in August '06 we had four puppies: Harley, Cha Cha, Babette, and Marie. Cha Cha was the most cheerful and social one. She has very distinctive markings, with a wide white stripe down her face. She was always more interested in greeting anyone in the room than doing anything else... she would give up playing with her siblings, carrying around a toy, or even nursing! She would be the first puppy to greet me every morning and the first to run over to any new visitor. She is now with a family of three kids and two big dogs. She gets lots of rides in the car, too! I saw her yesterday and she kissed me and kissed me and kissed me. I found out that Cha Cha and Marie have weekly play dates. Iâ€™m so glad all the puppies are in the same town.

Okay, I died when I saw your previous pups, but I eventually revived. Now, thanks to Cleo, I died all over again. Can't you PLEASE let me LIVE for a DAY?? No, apparently not. Cleo is here to kill me with sheer cuteness.

This puppy is a classic example of what is right with the world. No matter how down I get with what is going on--death, destruction, war--I can look at a a puppy with teeny feeties and a loving expression and remember that there is still plenty of good to go around. It is not possible to be sad and look at this dog's legs. Try it. See? You can't do it.

Try it again. Think of something sad, then look at the last photograph. Do you SEE how SHORT that LEG IS????? You are smiling and squealing now, aren't you? You are. I know it. Fantastic.

I suggest dropping photographs of these puppy dogs into war-torn regions. It might not solve all of the problems, but it would certainly make people a little bit happier.

I just love these pictures and I love this dog. I wouldn't take a jack russell as I hear they are so full of energy, but this baby would definitely change my mind. It is so great that you are able to see Cleo's pups grow.

Each day when I think the daily puppy just cannot get any cuter, along comes one like Cha Cha. She'll be mighty hard to beat! And I love the name, by the way. She reminds me so much of my Jack Russell mix when he was a puppy. He's 1.5 now and still as cute as ever! He's my real sweetie. Enjoy Cha Cha!

Question about this puppy, they are a lot mellower then the regular Jack Russel that most people have in the Us aren't they? IU had a beustiful Jack Russell named Jake, but if he was left alone for more then an hour or two he would just start to shred things, meaning, chew on EVERYTHINg... but excessively... is gnawed the ENTIRE corner off a table once... thansk for your time!

All Cleo's puppies are so beautiful - she must have great genetics.

Marie and Babette were completely gorgeous and their sister Cha Cha is just a perfect example of a Jack Russell pup. You must be SO proud!

Kudzu's Keeper, you are SOOO RIGHT. After viewing these photos, I literally had to eat some salty crackers and lie down. Seriously. "Doggy sugars"??? SO THAT'S WHY my low-carb dieting wasn't working!!! I wasn't eating bread, but I was still consuming vast quantities of DOGGY SUGARS!!! Oh, man. I can give up bread, but I can't give up poochie pics. To rmarsolek... to answer your question about Irish Jack Russells... as I understand it, they are the original breed from Ireland before they were bred with the Rat Terrier by a minister named Jack Russell in the 1780's - in order to make them better hunters. I'm not sure what they were called intially, but the whole breed bears his name now, regardless of whether they are the American "Parson" Jacks, or the original Irish Jacks (who have shorter legs, milder temperaments). Irish Jacks are also called "Shorties" or "Puddin' Jacks" or "English Jacks". Many of you mentioned the puppy's short little legs, which is a feature I particularly love about them!

Only the Parson Jack Russell is recognized by the AKC, and the Irish Jacks are recognized by the UKC.

The Irish Jacks definitely have a more mellow temperament, but we must always remember they are terriers - very busy with high energy. Irish Jacks are, as a rule, much less agressive than Parson Jacks. They get along better with kitty cats, other dogs, and children. Although I've known Parson Jacks that were beautiful pets as well, they tend to prefer the outdoor life in a barn situation better than being "in the house" dogs. Irish Jacks seem to be much better suited as house-dogs I think.

There is a great book called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Jack Russell Terrier" - although it's written about Parson Jacks, the concept of what it's like to own an Irish Jack is basically the same. That book taught me that Any Decent Jack Russell Will Need at Least 3 Hours of Romping, Running, Playing, Running, Hunting, Running, Chasing, Running, Digging, Running, Bug Following, Running, (are you getting this?) every day.

If we don't give Cleo enough jobs to do each day, she will get destructive. Yesterday was rainy and she didn't get out much - so today I had to make a special trip home from work to take her out in the middle of the day so she wouldn't chew something up. They've got to be busy or they get very sad... and then sad becomes mad.

In fact, that was a very big point I needed to make with each new owner of our puppies. Did they REALLY understand the nature of a Jack Russell, and were they committed to 15 years of it? We are very happy to have found these little guys the perfect homes for each of their individual personalities!

Keep your eyes open for Harley - he's the last of the litter of 4 (and the only boy in the bunch) to be featured on the site.

Thank you very much for letting us see your babies. They were each a delight and adorable. Your explaination about finding proper homes for them was wonderful. I never would have guessed such a little girl or guy would need that much activity. I thought with such little legs they would tire out easier. I hope other proud owners tell us this kind of information when they display their pups. That way if someone is interested in getting this type of dog they know how to properly care for it

I also want to thank you for noting "bug following" as a suggested activity. My dogs especially enjoy flying insects, and my father's windows are perpetually covered with nose smears from their attempts to catch them when they have landed on the french doors. My cats, too, get much of their daily exercise from playing with the weird crickets that somehow get into my house. Truly, if you were to design an animal gym, a section of it should pretty much just be a big room with a couple of crickets in there.
