As the "mommy" of a Beagle and a Beagle/JackR mix, I can tell you that your life will never be the same. Cooper will be there to dry your tears, make you laugh, and love you like you've never been loved. You have just become "mommy" to one of the sweetest breeds that exist. Then where he's chewing on his bed(?), my boy DESTROYED my exhusband's new family room sofa and loveseat...hehehe! Hmmm...maybe Harley knew that Daddy was going to deserve it?! Then...OMG...THE WILD CHILD with his toy, Oh how this reminds me of my WILD CHILD puppy pic of Harley! Sleeping like a perfect angel, laying by his first ball and looking SO REGAL with his bandana!

I had just said goodbye to my 1st BEST FRIEND of 11 years. My heart was broken and my ex wouldn't allow me to get a puppy. I found Harley on the Human Society Web Site. His name was Harvey...easy to change to Harley, and his birth date was one day after mine. I knew HE was the one when I saw his pic, though it took A LOT of nagging to get my ex to allow me to go see him. When I arrived their was a lady before me that had the first choice of him. Harley and I played by barking at each other, then a worker came and asked if we wanted to take him outside. OH HOW MY HEART WAS ACHING...I KNEW HE WAS THE ONE...I COULDN'T BARE TO HAVE MY HEART BROKE AGAIN.*tears falling* I was respectful and sat away from her and her boys so they could visit with him. He had NO interest in them. He walked away, jumped into my lap and gave me tons of kisses! The lady put her hand on my back and said "He has chosen his new Mommy". I gave her the biggest hug and thanked her so much then cried like a baby. Needless to say, he came home the next day!!!

My marriage was rocky and Harley kept me strong. I was blessed to be with him 24/7 due to my disability. A year later we divorced. I had been renting my home, so I had it to go back to. Harley walked right in like it was HIS HOME and ALWAYS had been! My Boo Boo Bear has been named "The Puppy that Saved My Soul". There were many times I wanted to end my life, but I couldn't leave my precious boy that loved me with all his soul. (THANK YOU for allowing me to take up room to express my inner feelings)

Seeing your dog makes me miss my Molly (beagle) who had to be put down 2 years ago. She too came to us when I was divorcing my ex husband 16 years ago. She brought lots of love to me and my kids when things were rough. She was the only beagle I knew that did not bark. We lived in a rural neighborhood of NH and she roamed the neighborhood - getting treats from everyone.

Look at those "sad" wonderful eyes. I'm so glad you have a puppy to help you through all this. Please be careful with the rawhide bones, I lost a wonderful dog to these bones. She was 9 3/4 years old, had them all her life. Our new love will NEVER have them. I'm horrible, I tell everyone about the dangers of rawhide bones, stores and especially here on this site.

i just had to add a comment that i forgot to add- I agree with heylady 54 about the rawhide treats- they are very dangerous for dogs, esp. puppies- they break off and get stuck- my vet said absolutely not- no rawhide, as did the breeder!

Cooper is truely the cutest beagle that I have ever seen. I think it's true for dogs as well as humans, that the "eyes are the window to the soul." When my ex left me, he took our dog with him to LA, and then promptly lost him. Of all the crap that I put up with from him, this was by far the worst. My mom had a beagle when i was an infant and he was the most protective guardian, so my mom says. He would cover me with his own personal blankie, and alert my mom when i would cry and then lay under my crib or next to me til i stopped. He apparently was VERY tolerant of having his ears played with by me.

I have one, and she's a handful and a half...they're very headstrong little doggies. And, at least for me, so hard to train to stop ARoOOOOOOooGH -ing at every little critter...but that might be because it just sounds too cute! My black lab picked up the beagle-howl from her, and she tries to imitate it...
Beagles are pack animals, so you should probably get at least a dozen. :)

i am in love with your precious puppy!!beagles are so loving too. i had one for ten years. he had cerebral palsy and eventually could not walk, but always was happy anyway. he could still crawl, and he taught me to be happy not with what i dont have, but to be grateful for what i do have....i miss him so...

Such an adorable boy beagle baby!!! I had a beagle many years ago, & I swore she was the cutest puppy that ever was or could be! She died @ the ripe old age of 15.5. I have since had a black lab pup & now Ori, my Kooiker--they were/are also Cuteness Exemplified, but since I had my girl Beagle, I have always had a special place in my heart for Beagles---my brother has one now, Rudy--who he rescued , so I can always visit him & get my beagle-fix!

Mine came in the form of a mixed beagle/lab and has been with me through thick and thin. Treasure this cute little guy and remember "he picked you". You are there for him and he is there for you in so many ways that as humans we will NEVER understand. This picture is a keeper as is you precious baby! I know what Christmas without your children is like. I had to spend one Christmas totally alone because my b/f decided it was more important to spend it with his family in FL and not let me have a Christmas at all. I had no money and thought my children would be better off with their dad and his new family. So, they did and I spent Christmas online with noone. I am so happy you have such a great fiance'.
