Sadie's mom says: My bulldog, Truman, became horribly lonely after the death of my 14-year-old black lab, Rookie. I was intent on adopting a female puppy and became drawn to one I had seen online at my local humane society. She was black with a white belly, just like Rookie, and her name was Grace. I was quite surprised to learn that the picture for Grace was really of her brother, and that Grace was not black at all. But her floppy ears, sad eyes, bashfulness, and decision to put a rock in her mouth (which another lab of mine used to do) made me instantly claim her as mine---even if she wasn't who I thought she was. We renamed her Sadie and she has been nothing but a joy to our family. She is extremely intelligent and very lovable. Sadie loves to chew on her brother and to "help" out in the yard by pulling or digging out weeds or by carrying fallen or cut tree limbs. Her bashful phase quickly passed; my vet calls her a diva because she is so sassy and definitely spoiled!
