Shiloh's mom says: Shiloh joined our family a little over a month ago. We werenâ€™t looking for a dog; we already had two, a 14-year-old mutt named Astro and a three-year-old golden retriever named Barley. I work from home and happened to catch the news at noon. They were broadcasting live from the humane society and showcased a litter of beagle mix pups. They held up Shiloh and I just knew she needed to come home with us. I threw on my coat and loaded up my three-year-old and off we went. When we got there we learned that Shiloh was already taken. We played with her a bit and I left my phone number in case it fell through. We got a call the next day that it fell through, so when my older boys got home from school we went down to pick her up. She is adjusting quite well to our lively household and adores her big sister Barley, and Barley is happy to have a playful pup around. We think she may be part Jack Russell.

Shiloh is so gorgeously adorable! I love her expressive eyes! I think that she looks like she could have a larger breed in her, too, judging from her head and the size of her paws. Maybe she is a cross between a lab, a jack russel terrier, and a beagle. She is soooooo cute, and, more importantly, she looks and sounds like she has a wonderful personality!

oh my goodness, Shiloh is beautiful!! She is so sweet... what a great story, I'm so happy it worked out for the both of you. It reminds me of that Pedigree commercial with all the dogs in the pound - makes me cry every time I see it and wish I could have all of those pups!

Oh my God, she is so sweet and beautiful! She reminds me of my little Beagle, Lobo, curled up and just looking cute as anything! Well, he's big, but still has that cute little sleepy body curl when he sleeps. She's make a great girlfriend for him! ;o)

anon, that pedigree commercial breaks my heart every time i see it. it is people like shiloh's family and all the other great people out there who have shared their great rescue dogs and pups with us that gives me hope. rescuers rock!

Can't we have 30 biscuits for Shiloh????? Having just joined this site, I'd say we need more biscuits!! This one's a precious little sweetheart! You are so lucky to have "found" her! I would have done the same-in fact 2 of ours were "grocery box puppies", and 2 of ours have been "pound puppies", and we would have more if we could! My eyeliner never looked that good, either! These photos just make my day so much brighter, especially since it's so cold up here this winter!

We have 6 dogs right now and one of them is NOT a beagle, but that is top on our list. Four of ours were rescues and I will never again have a dog who isn't a rescue. I really feel in my heart of hearts that people who rescue pets that would otherwise be destroyed have a special place reserved for them in Heaven, playing with all the other critters!! The Pedigree commercial tore me up something awful, I had to leave the room if it came on, then would stand in the kitchen crying because I knew what it was about. Your darling is adorable and she clearly was very fortunate that the other home didn't work out. God does move in mysterious ways!!

Shiloh looks like she has a bit of Jack Russell in her to me, too.

I love her story; my best friend's parents wound up with their only mutt that way (saw Sebastian on a local news show). Of course, he's a big fellow (think Sirius Black in Harry Potter in his canine incarnation), and yet (probably because they've always had big dogs) they were truly surprised to learn he hadn't yet been "snapped up"! (Trust me, like Shiloh, that was the rest of the world's loss.)

Anyway, scritches (and treats . . . she is part beagle, after all!) to little Shiloh!

what a cutie!!! my first dog as an adult was a beagle mix -- supposedly with cocker spaniel -- she was 58# of pure muscle at full growth, but what a GREAT dog! she sure looked a lot like this one in the face as a pup except her coloring was more black with white and tan markings...
