He's adorable. I've never heard of this breed before. How big will he get? He looks so soft and cuddly. Where did you come up with Wankel for a name? I love it, it seems to fit him perfectly!

Aw, what a cutie! I saw a Shiba Inu at a dog show once and hadn't realized how tiny they are- I hadn't seen a picture with proper proportions. THey are really cute, and so small!

He's adorable. We have a Shiba Inu mix that is a rescue. Before that, I didn't know they existed. They're truly unique. (As is Wankel's name. What is its origin?)

What a perfect little puppy, and one who seems to know how to pose far better than most puppies!
And for the few posters on here who enquired about the name "Wankel" , as soon as I saw it, I said to myself, "How perfect". I don't know where the owners got it, but a Wankel was a type of engine that at one time was thought to be revolutionary in its design and its difference from the usual 6 or 8 cylinder internal combustion engine which utilized pistons, spark plugs and a combustion chamber/
Suzuki used it in one of their motorcycles in the mid 1970s and it was used I think in a few models of the Peugeot around the same time. A different kind of engine---the one puppies use!

Awwww....how cute. Reminds me of my Shiba when he was a puppy - his coloring is almost like that except mine has more white in his tail. May you have many years of enjoyment with your little dynamo.

Whenever I take our shiba, Tika, out in a crowd, I constantly get asked what kind of dog she is. I'll bet 15 people asked me the last time and only one knew what she was before I told them. They are great dogs but can be a little 'uppity' but also very loving. As for size, they're just about right. Tika is probably about 18" tall at the shoulder and about 30 pounds.

Shibas abound in NYC and it's no wonder. They possess great demeanor, affection and one-of-a-kind looks. They are shy, but beyond adorable.

Wankel, you have your work cut out for you, but I know you can rise to the challenge! Thank you, Mr. Williams.

Wankel is an adorable baby Shiba. Have fun with all that energy :-) We have a black-and-tan Shiba & so many people stop to comment on how beautiful they are. Often called a "big dog in a little package!" -- a perfect combination. She's 4 years old now & such a happy, well-behaved companion.

I have one mixed with 1/2 Cairn... she is a handful! But, a very lovable people oriented pooch! She already caught a squirrel and the neighbors' cats are always on the watch!! :)
